August 31, 2004 -- Just in time for the Republican National Convention, comes a comical new twist on the Bush campaign official logo. Bush-Vader 04 buttons, T-shirts, and bumper stickers will be popping up every where this fall. Available online at http://BushVader04.com [BushVader04.com], these products represent the first foray into political satire for Internet marketer eMoney Enterprises.
I was watching Return of the Jedi, recalls eMoney Enterprises co-owner, Dave Barrett. It was at the part where Luke removes Darth Vaders mask, when it occurred to me that he sort of looks like Dick Cheney under there, only not as mean. Thats when the idea hit me.
The website offers three designs, available on a large assortment of products, from totes to teddy bears. The first design is a simple parody of the "Bush-Cheney '04" logo, the second adding the phrase Bringing Order To The Galaxy, and the third adding Bushs and Vaders likenesses.
We wanted to try something different, says Chris Gagliano, Daves business partner. So far, weve only sold downloadable information products, such as ebooks. Selling tangible goods kicks it up a notch. Star Wars collectors take note; Chris says the products will only be available up until the election.
